Specializing in quality dinosaur teeth

About Us

Hi!  Welcome to our web page!  We are Caryn and John Fraundorfer.  Between the two of us, we've been amateur fossil collectors for over 25 years, and our joint passion for fossils continues to grow steadily.  This website can attest to the fact that our fossil collection has grown steadily as well -- it has come a long way from the shells, sponges and crinoid stems that John used in his fossil presentation in 6th grade in rural Pennsylvania (Altoona to be precise).

Our taste in fossils has also grown -- our favorite types of fossils are dinosaur teeth!  What's great about fossil teeth is that they have not been totally replaced by mineralization, they are the actual teeth!  It stirs our imagination to look closely at an individual tooth and examine its wear patterns.  Just to think that we are holding the actual tooth of an animal that lived millions of years ago -- and this tooth chewed on the local foliage, or perhaps tore into the flesh of another ancient creature -- sends chills down our spines!

We are by no means professional paleontologists, and our current life situations (and finances) cannot allow us to travel the world on our own digs (at least not yet!).  However, over the past few years, we have developed relationships with those lucky folks who can travel the world in search of fossils.  With their insight, knowledge, and support, we are at the stage of being able to open our own fossil Internet store!  We know that our website will continue to grow as our knowledge and inventory grows.  We are very excited about this endeavor, and we hope that we can help introduce you to the fascinating world of dinosaurs and fossils, or perhaps facilitate your existing interests.  Feel free to e-mail us at cj@cjfossils.com to talk fossils -- we'd love to hear from you!  Thank you for checking out C&J Fossils!
